Lots of news to report since our last update!

Aimee and the catWe'll start with the most recent news... Our last visit to the midwives was a lot of fun, with Valerie palpating Aimee's abdomen to see what the baby was up to. At that particular moment, the baby was lying across Aimee, with it's head to the left side, feet to the right, and, Valerie speculated, probably "looking" right up at us! Of course, it was wonderful to hear the strong little heartbeat again.

Chuck on the scaleAnother sign that things are really progressing is the fact that Aimee's belly is getting quite large! Press the Aimee+ button to see what we mean.

The basinette has arrived, sent from California by the Ellingsens. This was the very place where Aimee and her sisters slept when they were babies. More recently, John Kirkpatrick Ramsey, Aimee's new nephew, slumbered in it. Not only is it now set up next to Chuck and Aimee's bed, but it is also full of beautiful baby clothes. Mom Ellingsen couldn't resist getting started on baby clothes when we found a sale at "Spoiled Rotten" of La Jolla! Also, Monique, Aimee's sister, sent some useful items based on her experiences with John.

Aimee holding nephew JohnAimee and Chuck both loved seeing baby nephew John in California - he has so much personality for one so young! We hope to see him again before he has his first birthday...

Another highlight of the past month was our trip to Louisiana in which we had a wondeful time with cousins Delia and Rob. Read the milestones section for more details on our recent travels to California, Louisiana, and Boston.

One sad thing we have to report is that we had to give away our dear boy, Andrew the cat. Aimee's allergies necessitated this decision. But, we are happy to note that he is doing great with his new friend, Helene Sabine Renard. Helene and Andrew are already like two peas in a pod and he happily sits on her shoulders whenever possible.
