(the first outfit!)
girl name:
Josephine Alma Ellingsen
Alma means "soul" in Spanish which is what we would actually call the baby. Aimee's family has a tradition of calling women by their middle names! Both names were also in our favorite movie, Fanny & Alexander by Ingmar Bergman... in fact we still may decide to use the nordic spelling of Josefin, as in the movie...
boy name:
Isak Keegan
Krekelberg Marcel Isak Krekelberg
We changed our mind on the boy name! We decided we really like the name Marcel! We are keeping Isak as the middle name, and love the meaning of that, which is "he laughs".
Why the different last names?
Well, we already have different last names since Aimee kept hers when we got married. SO, we figured we would leave it up to fate when it came to our first kiddo. In any case, we think most people would agree that no child should have to have the hyphenated last name ELLINGSEN-KREKELBERG or KREKELBERG-ELLINGSEN!
AND...
will we find out the sex in advance?
No, we are not really interested in the various tests that would tell us the sex of the child. Besides, we hear you have extra incentive to PUSH in those final minutes if you still haven't found out what it is. Also, we both like the colors yellow and green much better than pink OR blue. So, anyway, anyone who gets the baby stuff in advance of the birth will have to stick to genderless choices!
As for other methods of deciphering the sex of a child, the ancient calender devised by the Chinese to determine the sex of a child says it will be a girl...
AND Aimee has had TWO dreams in which the baby turned out to be a girl.
Chuck thinks so too, for various reasons, though he'd rather have a boy!
Also, was the pregnant fish Aimee caught on Star Lake a sign? We'll see.
